Yes, BB, we noted that phenonmenon in the northwestern sky at exactly 6:43pm Los Cabos time tonight. We had purchased a thin crust pizza from El Violi Restaurant on the Corridor in Los Cabos (one of our favorites) earlier in the evening, para llevar, and were enjoying that with our Friday evening c-cktails overlooking the SOC and Pacific at that time, quando mi esposa se dicen, "mira, mira."

We were 37 year residents of the Central Coast of California and this was a common sight when atmospheric conditions were just right, when they had a rocket launch at Vandenberg AFB near Lompoc, CA. We and you were witnesses to a very rare sight in Baja California. Atmospheric conditions were just right. WE...even had to put our c-cktails down and say WOW....expect the unexpected in Baja!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it could be.....McFEZ!! But, more likely, it's the Leonid Meteor Showers which from Southern States in Northern Baja appear to come out of the constellation Leo starting in the east at sundown....or, it could be McFez on a beer run :) I'm leaning towards the second  stop by here on the way home, superfriend, supply is dwindling...need sustinance

We had a splendid view of it from our terrace looking west over the inner bay of La Paz toward El Mogote. It was unlike anything we've ever seen in the night sky before. We have seen satellites, missile launches, contrails from aircraft, meteors and comets and a couple of other weirdnesses I won't even try to describe, but this event tonight was entirely different. Beautiful and impressive are the adjectives that come to mind in describing it.

To repeat, we have seen this same exact phenomenom at least 100 times over 37 years. Nothing unusual about it except we saw it in Baja for the first time. It was a typical missle launch, probably from Vandenberg.

A neighbor reported it but by the time I got out to see it all there was was a contrail by the moon. I didn't think much of it but now I wish I had been out side to see it.

Timothy Leary's Spaceship! I have seen some beautiful shooting stars, meteorites, and unexplainable lights in the evening sky. Like the time.......... Not to mention the awesome Full Moon right now!! Tio
