Bus from Tiajuana to Cabo

halcyondays - 12-1-2010 at 08:23 PM

Is there a passenger bus route from Tiajuana to Cabo?

How long does it take?
And how much does it cost?

The bus from San Jose to La Paz is great.
If it is anything like that we may want to use it!

Thanks!

I have made the Tijuana/Loreto many times and I am sure you can go all the way to Cabo. The Tijuana/Loreto price is approx. 1000 pesos. and takes around 17 hours.

Haven't looked into it anytime recently, but you used to have to take a bus from Tijuana to La Paz, and then (from the same bus station) take another from La Paz to Cabo San Lucas (and points in-between, via either SJdC or Todos Santos).

Brings back memories, I remember my first bus trip
TJ/La Paz, 1983 or so, $14 one way. What an adventure,
my first sight ever of the Cortez was coming down the Santa
Rosalia grade at sun up, I was hooked. I would walk across
at TJ, take a city bus out, 4 mi east or so, to
the TJ Central Bus Station. About 22 hrs. to
La Paz, I believe you have to get another bus to
San Jose del Cabo or to San Lucas. I believe it
is approx $110 US TJ/La Paz, it is sometimes more
to bus long distances than to fly, that is if you
fly volaris TJ/La Paz

reminds me back in '01 or '02 my brother-in-law and I took a road trip by bus from TJ to Culiacan, Sinaloa. We partied hard for about a week until my wife ordered us back home. We jumped on a early morning bus headed back to tj with plenty of packed lunch and water. We fell asleep and awoke about 8 hours later very hung over and thirsty to find that someone had taken our lunches and water bottles....geeeez.

I took the bus once from La Paz to TJ, we left La Paz at about 6pm and arrived in TJ at about 4pm the next day. The bus was clean, comfortable and on time. The bus drivers were real pros.

Tijuana to La Paz about 22 hours - cost is $1,580MN. Seperate bus to Cabo from the Malecon terminal.

Strongly advise breaking the journey somewhere . ..

During the day you get movies - used to be in English with subtitles and more recently they're now dubbed in Spanish. Night is harder IMO due to the stopping and lights - day is interesting.

Enjoy and yeah, those volaris flights are really inexpensive .... when you can find them!
