I will be crossing at Tecate in a week or so and am looking for directions to blvd 2000 to avoid the construction unless a lot of it is completed.
Thanks Mike

Dennis just posted that 85% of the 16 mile project was completed.
If you still want to go on Corredor 2000 (new name) then head west on Mex. 2 which is the main street through Tecate a couple blocks down the hill
from the border.
Stay on the free road, Mex. 2... it is 4 lanes wide all the way...
The interchange with Corredor 2000 is about 16 miles west of Tecate... well signed for Ensenada, Rosarito, Popotla.

We tried this route a couple of days ago (in reverse, going North). It felt longer than the direct route to Tecate and we only got a little lost,
although not in a scary part of Otay mesa this time at least. We took Hwy 2D tollroad rather than Hwy 2 that David K mentioned. All in all it did the
trick but it'll sure be nice when the direct route to TKT is finished.
The narrative is a little confusing but the map gives you the idea and a reconnoiter on Google earth makes it clear.
(I don't actually know what "reconnoiter" means, but I love that word and they say it alot on "Deadwood")

The Toll road (2-D) adds 7 miles and costs $8, over using Hwy. 2 between Tecate and Corredor 2000... I did it that way at first, never again!
