Check your reciept for pesos at Costcos

We stopped at Costcos CV last week to get pesos b4 crossing. They advertised 12.3/$ on their sign, but when I checked the reciept later in the day, they had only paid me 12.05/$. Not such a big deal, but buyer beware. Got pesos yesterday in TS at 12.7. Happy days. This makes 100 posts.

My wife is familiar with exchanging money, she says that maybe you were charged a commission. Most places charge a commission for exchanging money. I rarely exchange money but when I need pesos, I exchange in San Ysidro where there is more competition between business' and no commission is charged.

Nope... unless things changed.. There are TWO peso rates shown at all Casas de Cambio: Buy and Sell... (dollars to pesos and pesos to dollars).

I bet you saw that they will take from you 12.30 pesos for every dollar you want and didn't see the other figure which was how many pesos (12.05) you get for every dollar?

I'll bet David is right. I used to live in Baja so very familar with exchange rates etc. However, on my last trip, when I went to buy pesos, my first thought was that I was getting ripped off. I walked away from the window but after thinking about it I returned and purchased the pesos. Ron
