The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) announced on Friday 3 December, the amendments to relax the restriction of dollars in the United States border, which will increase from 7,000 to $ 14.000 permissibility for legal persons to deposit and change the greenback.

Well that must have been written by either a lawyer or a politician. Does that really mean that you can now deposit $4,000 US or $48,000 Pesos in your Mexican bank account.

Key point: the changes were announced on Friday, but are not yet legal until they get published in the official gazette.

Doesn't affect private customers of banks, as it's only the US$ exchange limit for border businesses that is being raised from $7k to $14k/month. Limit on purchases rising from $100 to $250.
