We crossed the border in Mid October and headed south on highway 1 through all the construction.
We had been following an old dump truck that was loaded to over flowing. I was keeping my distance as I was worried about stuff flying off. All of a
sudden the truck disappeared in a cloud of dust. When the dust cleared, I could see that both right rear tires had blown and he was sitting in the
south bound lane of Highway 1 on the rims. There was no one coming so I was able to pass but I am sure that created a big traffic jam before it was
cleared.
We got further south and came to where they were removing dirt from the west side of the road with a track hoe. They were putting the dirt into a dump
truck and dumping it on the east side. Just as we got there, a truck was crossing the road getting ready to dump. It went to far and started to
slide down the bank into the canyon. I was sure we would be there an hour or two while they got a chain and another big vehicle to pull it out.
The track hoe came across the road and put its bucket into the back of the dump truck which was filled with dirt. The track hoe then just pulled the
truck back up onto the road like it was something that happened every day. There was no metal contact between the back hoe and the truck. We were
allowed to pass in maybe 3 minutes.
I am always surprised at what I see on the way down.

I remember seeing a propane Truck, the one's
with that 40'x 10' Tanker type. The entire
tank had come detached from the truck,
was laying in the raod no. of Loreto. Saw one
of those mid peninsula Pronghorns standing
in the road between Mulege- Loreto, no
one at Posada Conception believed me.
