Good read. I do agree with what he has to say, especially decriminalization of pot and business and job creation. I wonder who is smoking all that

Thanks, Mexray, for posting Grassby's article. It shows some good, original thinking on issues that beg for attention. My only quibble with it is
the outdated understatement of the death toll due to the increasingly pointless "war on drugs."

Decriminalization of all drugs would have exactly the same effect on Mexican organized crime as the repeal of prohibition had on American organized
crime.
Capone, Lansky, Gotti, and tens of thousands of this ilk did not abandon their tradecraft and go back to spinning pizza dough in the windows of
pizzarias. Mexican cartel members would not suddenly resort to selling jewelry on the beach or zebra paint burros to take tourist photos.
Mexico is not a failed state nor is it in danger of becoming one. It is IMO in great danger of having to re-invent itself, thus forever changing it's
very nature and losing a lot of the character that has shined brighter than the negatives that have plagued it since colonial times.
