I haven't really had a chance to play with my new Nikon 70~300 but so far it's the best Xmas present I've given myself in a long while. Time will tell
if I can get the sharpness and composition of some of the real photographers on this site. They are certainly an inspiration.

You're in luck iPhoto 11 down loads all the info from my Nikon D-60 with the photos so;
ISO 400 ~ f36 ~ 1/200 ~ zoomed to 300mm ~ I also cropped and enhanced the photo.

There's nothing like a picture to tell the story...and this is a beauty.BMG - 12-20-2010 at 07:07 AM
Tell Santa that lens is on my list, too. I had a chance to snap one onto my camera and play with it for a while and I was hooked.Bob and Susan - 12-20-2010 at 07:30 AM

We will be. Having an eclipse party over here with big telescopes and cameras. The owner of the house where the party is has a Nikon 600mm f4 lens.
The thing sells for about 10.5K now. I'm going to try it out on my D90.
Russ, I also have the 70-300. But my Xmas present to myself is the 10-24 f3.5-4.0 lens. Wont be here until it arrives by mother-in-law, after the 1st
of the year.
She will probably misinterpret my "happiness" at seeing her.
