Where will you BN, be Xmas day?

mcfez - 12-20-2010 at 12:12 PM

Normally we head to the house in San Felipe for the Holidays. This year.....the big Boss is flying to Germany to be with her Mum, young son is going to Arizona, and I am going to my oldest boy's family home for a Xmas dinner. Pecan Pie and sweet potatoes..how can you beat that?

Merry Xmas to ALL of BN's here at this wonderful board. You too PJC !

We will stay here in Rosarito and our daughter and friend will be joining us for some prime rib, along with the neighborhood "strays"

We're hoping for warm weather in Gonzaga.

I'm still trying to get that Red Ryder BB gun.

Great movie that was...and still is.

We will be at home in warm and beautiful CSL. This year we will be sharing our Baja X-mas with a friend from NOB.

Our X-mas morning tradition starts with several friends and neighbors going to the beach for breakfast...last year there was 24 of us. Nothing better than having your toes in the sand when we all says "Feliz Navidad". Of course everyone brings a bottle of champagne to go with the freshly squeezed OJ.

Then we counts our blessings for the life we have. After that, we also fell sorry for all of ours friends and family that are in less fortunate places...where there is rain, sleet, snow, and ice.

Arrachera is on the dinner menu...along with chipotle scalloped sweet potatoes and chocolate pecan pie.

Feliz Navidad

DENNIS - 12-20-2010 at 12:56 PM

I'll be right here

Speading Christmas Cheer

With a box of beer

On my computeer

OK...for that I sincerely apologize. I was possessed and it will never happen again. :barf:

karenintx - 12-20-2010 at 01:14 PM

Hey Dennis...

I'll call you if we have left overs!

TMW - 12-20-2010 at 01:22 PM

We're staying home and letting the kids and grandkids come to us this year. Besides I have a lot of work to do in planning my next Baja trip which will be changed when I cross the border.

Most Always Stay Home for the Holidays

Gypsy Jan - 12-20-2010 at 06:44 PM

Never liked the stress of trying to get there/wherever that occurs during this time of year.

Home is Rosarito on the beach, but we will probably be working on repairing the roof leaks after this storm and prepairing for the next one coming up this week.

The Christmas tree is a live one in the yard, but the wind last night blew the lights off.

Oh, BTW, at the Mega Commercial in Rosarito today, we saw the big glass doors lying in pieces on the ground; the wind blew them apart at 5:00 am this morning.

With the grandkids in the most northern part of "Old Mexico", San Francisco, California.

monoloco - 12-21-2010 at 07:56 AM

We will be sitting on the porch eating turkey and watching the whales.

By the fireplace

djh - 12-21-2010 at 09:26 AM

at the North Pole . . . .

well, close, anyway ~ North Idaho.... Got that "North" part right.....

.....sitting in front of the fireplace with Shing and Fei and 4 spoiled cats..... Then off to the CDA Tribal Casino for their amazing seafood buffet.... I prefer Juan Carlos' cabrilla or shrimp bruschetta (Mita Gormet, Loreto), and that's what I'll be imagining when I close my eyes, and mouth to chew :smug:

IF I get my rig roadready, I might be able to do a marathon drive CDA to LTO in 4 or more likely 5 days, pick up Russ's dune cart, overnight in SD (thx. PC !). . . . and fill my lungs with some sweet Baja air....

but that's a big if :-). Still gotta figure a way home so I can get myself back to work . . . Jan 3 ~ please excuse my swearing during the holidays....

We will be leaving for Santa Fe Springs, CA on the 23rd. We stay at my sister's house. On Christmas eve we make tamales stuffed with pork and also tamales with pineapple. Aside from their presents that are wrapped and under the tree, we have my kids write a letter to Santa and place each letter in one of their shoes.
In the morning each shoe is on top of whatever present Santa brought them.

Thats a great thing with the shoes!

Except for the very young ones in our family....past few years I have told the older kids (14 +) to skim thru the internet for stuff they want. Comply a list of links from those "want pages" and send it to me. I order on line, gift wrapped too, and the presents get to directly to their homes on time for Xmas.

No Malls, bell ringers, traffic. :tumble:
