We saw the orcas feeding on mantas here as well.dtutko1 - 12-29-2010 at 06:54 AM
We had nearly the same show monday 12/27 on the beach at San Pedrito, El Pescadero. the orcas chased the rays right to the beach. Putting on quite a
display. The orcas moved on pretty fast.bajalearner - 12-29-2010 at 09:08 AM
WoW, interesting...Is it dangerous for you to be there?Lee - 12-29-2010 at 10:55 AM
Saw a male Orca 30' from shore, Punta Lobos, yesterday 6:30am. Lots of Mobula between there and Cerritos with schools moving North and South at
Pedrito.
Largest concentration of Mobula's anywhere -- Sea of Cortez.
I was underwater on scuba at about 50 fsw years ago at Punta San Francisquito when an enormous school of mobulas passed overhead. It was a
spectacular sight; they blocked out the light, things turned dark. It took a good five minutes for the entire school to pass. One of the most
amazing things I have seen underwater.amirravon - 12-29-2010 at 07:26 PM

bajalearner its a very interesting question , I don't know if killer-whales ever attack a small vassal before. any way I didn't feel threatened by
them at all. If anybody have any information on this topic please post.
Amir, that was really cool footage...glad you are getting out in your inflatable and having fun.woody with a view - 12-29-2010 at 07:55 PM
i'd be "concerned" if i was you. those orcas are SMART. as in "play with the little human" smart. awesome video but i wouldn't look to be around orcas
in a small inflatable/kayak/surfboard....Ken Bondy - 12-29-2010 at 08:26 PM
To my knowledge wild orcas present no danger to humans. Orcas in captivity have injured or killed their trainers on several occasions, but I am
unaware of a single documented instance of an orca attacking a human in the wild. I have swum with them, both on scuba and snorkel, several times and
been close to them in small boats many times, and have never observed any threatening behavior. There are organizations and individuals who regularly
lead photo trips specifically to swim with orcas in various parts of the world and I have never heard any reports of aggressive behavior by the
animals.Ken Bondy - 12-30-2010 at 08:14 AM
Here's a link to one of the orca photo trips to Norway. It contains some interesting descriptions of their behavior: http://biganimals.com/expeditions/orca-adventure/amirravon - 12-30-2010 at 08:48 PM

I will. Don't see him too often any more but I will give him a big SHALOM next time I do. Yes, you could do much worse than to grow up to be Amos
