Heading north in about 10 days and will stop in Mulege and have never stopped there before. Just looking for a room close to something to eat and head
out early the next morning. Any suggestions-- thanks -- NormwillyAirstream - 1-2-2011 at 06:03 PM
Cuesta Real Hotel/RV park just south of town. Good Restaurant or walk to Jeannine's for breakfast and Jungle Jim's for dinner. Or the Hotel Hacienda
right in town and walk to several good restaurants.BajaBlanca - 1-2-2011 at 06:07 PM

Didn't the pig roast used to be held on saturday nights? Seemed to me it was a saturday the only time I was at the Serenidad in '85.BajaBlanca - 1-2-2011 at 06:57 PM

How are you traveling? RV? Auto? Pickup? (with or without trailer?)
The Cuesta Real is a good suggestion if you are traveling with your home.
If not, it sounds like you want someplace convenient, in town, for a quick exit in the morning.
The Hacienda is an old mainstay that suffered a lot of flood damage a year ago. If people are recommending it...great! That means that it is a perfect
recommendation. I have not been back since it was closed for renovations.
Other in town recommendations: The Hotel Las Casitas is very centrally located, convenient and reasonable. Lots of "charm". Biggest downside: no
off-street parking.
Eat and drink at Scotty's El Candil. Tell him I recommended his restaurant. In the morning, eat at Doney's (Mele's). Tell him also that I sent you.
Hotel Serididad pig roast is on Saturday nights. Big turista fiesta. Mariachis, weak Margaritas, fun if you have never done it, and if you happen to
be there on a Saturday.
Good luck,

Tony-- thanks -- we are driving and just a quick trip to Phoenix to do the PF Chang marathon- It's a family get together also so spend a few days with
them and then head back to La paz-- thanks again -- Normmulegemichael - 1-3-2011 at 10:18 AM
no longer mariachis at serinidad, the margueritas are weaker than ever and the pig roast is mediocre at best...downtown you have the mulege hotel with
doney's restaurant right across the street; pretty convenient....and if you are there saturday morning don't miss dany's restaurant for some of the
best carnitas you've ever sat down to.motoged - 1-3-2011 at 01:24 PM

Is Dany's that small open white place in town where two streets converge a few blocks east of Las Casitas? I love his tacos....never had the
carnitas.

Hotel Mulege would be my choice in downtown Mulege - secure parking, etc. Across the street from Doneys, walking distance to Scot's El Candil and
Francisco's Los Equpalies - all are very good. Ray's is a short drive out to the valley behind Mulege - ask around for days that Ray is open which I
believe are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The Saturday carnitas that Mulegemike mentioned are great also. Have fun. Jim
