safe driving baja needs safe driving

chrisx - 1-3-2011 at 01:09 PM

If you have children or grand children you might want to join the fight against unsafe drivers. you will save more lives by jarring a jerk to his senses, than you ever could by donating to a charity

if beer or pills is the cause of their retardation, poor them out.
if mental disorder is the cause of their bad driving, repeat over and over, SLOW DOWN, HIT THE BRAKES, memory can be taught or trained. ability to reason is what unsafe drivers don't have. even a dog can learn a one word command.

join the fight, the life you save could belong to someone you love.
HEY GRINGO HIT THE BRAKES

the mentally challenged will identify themselves by disagreeing with the idea of safe driving. work on them. even a dog can learn something new

motoged - 1-3-2011 at 01:20 PM

I want to be the first to be recognized as not being mentally challenged:lol::lol:

I agree: Safe Driving is a good idea !!!:light::bounce::saint:

"if beer or pills is the cause of their retardation, poor them out".

That could take awhile, depending on their financial condition.

Hitting the Brakes

MrBillM - 1-3-2011 at 01:56 PM

Will probably result in a Mex-Plated vehicle driving up your Butt.

The only time you usually see a Mex-Vehicle driving the Speed-Limit is when it can't go any faster.

Oso - 1-3-2011 at 02:08 PM

You might be interested to know that Mex 2, the two lane portion between San Luis Rio Colorado and Sonoita, is considered the second most dangerous highway in Mexico (You can probably guess the first) and the first in fatal accidents. The stretch from San Luis to Mexicali is four lane. Despite repeated calls to widen the Sonoita stretch, the government refuses, claiming not enough traffic.

chippy - 1-3-2011 at 02:26 PM

I´m to pour to drink alot unless one of my rich friends poors me drinks for free. Oso I´ve seen so many horrific wrecks on that stretch during Semana Santa and Navidad that I quit bringing the kids up to see relatives during those vacations.

Drinking & Driving are one of my favorite things to do in Baja. There's no one to pull me over in the middle of nowhere and if there was I could probably bribe them with some of the fine tequilla I'm drinking, Centenario rules. Also I like to burn a fatty after one of those pesky military stops, keep your stash on your person, they never search you there.

Ahhh Yesss....The introduction to "The Newest And Bestest Baja Guidebook." It's about time someone lit the way [no pun intended] for the common Baja traveler.
SALUD

And try to keep in mind...you can't litter aluminum. It's off the ground by the second bounce.

Russ - 1-4-2011 at 07:02 AM

What does a mentally challenged Baja 1 driver say when he hit a frog on a bicycle?

please post link to original post introducing the fat lady in a honda. i don't understand the reference.

p.s. i think fat ladies usually drive SUVs, and in gringo population, BMI and automobile size are directly correlated.

On Dec. 11th just north of San Vicente, My daughter, son-in-law and 2 granddaughter were hit head on by a drunk driver. It was only 8:30 in the evening. One of my granddaughter got a hole in her head and spent 3 days in the hospital. the other who is just 5 was beat up pretty bad and cut on the chin. my daughter and son-in-law were also beat up pretty bad by the air bags and seat belts.
The other driver just paid his 40,000. pesos to the Federales to put him in the ambulance and not report drunk driver.
My granddaughter has had a few plastic surgeries and thank god she did not loss her site.
I have lived here for 30 years and have been to many funeral of people hit and killed by drunk drivers. I have never found it funny.
This was the best Christmas of my life. Because they all lived.
I hope everyone will drive careful and watch for the other driver. they will kill you.
drive safe

Irene,
So very sorry to hear about the accident. We hope for a complete recovery for your family.

Drunk drivers are never funny, Gringo or Mexican---they are killers.

Hope to see you soon.
Diana y John

irenemm - 1-7-2011 at 10:45 AM

yup 40,000. he had to share it with his bosses and the cops from san vicente too.
We know this from someone who can find this stuff out.
corruption is alive and well in Mexico.
I live in this world of make believe and I did think things had changed. Nope all the same.
Hell I would give 40,000. for him to take a dirt nap or a black top nap.

Diane thank you so much. They have appointment on the 14th to see the Dr. and to see if her eye is going to be fine or will have damage to it.
Hope to see you soon.

to all drive careful

tripledigitken - 1-7-2011 at 08:29 PM

Irene,

I am so sorry to hear of the bad news that has befallen your family. Our thoughts are with you as you deal with this crisis.

We say we will pull in there as we head south but it's always morning. Next time will pop in if only to introduce ourselves.

Ken

roadhog - 1-7-2011 at 09:48 PM

There are no 'bad drivers' driving Baja.

Watch the right side for culvert downhill into Rosalia.
Drive well to the right for all blind corners, esp. driving uphill at Mesa bottoms.
Beware giving room for oncoming truckers. Truckers find this amusing, play chicken with you.
Slow or stop if possible for oncoming bus sized motorhomes.
Do not lead a parade. Pull over and let those marooons go by.
Do not squeeze the throttle down into the long right hander leaving town....

irenemm - 1-8-2011 at 04:53 PM

@ Ken, Thank you I hope you do stop by sometime. If it early come and get a good cup of coffee. We have very good regular and de-cafe no instant. Our breakfast are pretty good. too.
Would love to just meet you. My husband is always in the restaurant in morning. Me well someone has to keep the house company.

@soulpatch, Thank you. We can wish Karma for the that.

@ roadhog. How long you been coming down here. Most local driver are bad driver. Not much of a test to get a license or not at all.

thank you everyone for the kind words
