Mike plans to go around Laguna San Ignacio, then take the foothills route from there (not the salt flats) to San Juanico, then continue on to La
Purisima, then south along the Pacific Coast all the way to Los Cabos. He originally intended to cross the peninsula back over to the SOC at La
Purisima, but has decided to bypass the mountain crossing there and simply continue more directly to the south towards his final destination of the

I think Doug covered your question... and to add that after resting in San Ignacio, he is not taking the road all the way to Laguna San Ignacio, but
the higher route past the two towns (that are on the AAA map I posted) of El Patrocinio and San Jose de Gracia... most likely.
South of San Jose de Gracia, that high road joins the central/ graded road from El Cuarenta and then south a bit the beach or salt flat road joins in,
5 miles from La Ballena.motoged - 1-3-2011 at 09:05 PM

All Mike needs is a gold pan and he can "head for them thar hills"!!!
Teasing you Mike, but you look to be a natural prospector out there and maybe "born too late" (me too)!!BajaNomad - 1-3-2011 at 11:26 PM

those dotted lines are no joke... throw in a random hurricane or two every year and it only gets better, for a mule.TMW - 1-4-2011 at 11:03 AM
If he were to follow the SCORE markers from the main road to El Patrocino and beyond he'd come into El Cuarenta from the back side. Not as easy a walk
as the main road however.
