Have any of you nomads stayed here, and if so, thoughts? Gracias

the location is what it is all about. It is OK. or it was when we stayed there several years ago. How long are you going to be in San Felipe? The
way things are going you could get a GREAT rental for about the same price, just depends on how long you want to be there.

We stayed at the El Cortez while our casa was being built. We liked it, but if you have never stayed in a Mexico Motel, it is not big frills.
We stayed in one of the Casita's on the beach. It had to full size beds a TV, no cable, and a shower, that is it.
It is clean and some what comfortable. However, the bare foot beach bar is great. If you go, ask for Juan. He is a waiter that we have known for
years from the PDO bar. He is a great guy and will take good care of you.

We stayed at the El Cortez in 2004 and liked it very much. Don't know how things have changed but here's how it looked 6 years ago:

We stayed there 2 weeks ago. We liked it, no water in the pool but it was cold and I didn't want to swim anyway.....dt

It is not fancy, but is clean and comfortable. The best thing is the location...an easy walk into town, plus there is an on-site bar and restaurant
which are both good. Have fun!

Yikes! No big frills and not fancy? The place has really hot showers, nice big rooms, cold a/c, a very adequate if not very good at times restaurant,
is on the beach, near town, fun bar, pool.......if you travel a lot in Baja it is the friggin Ritz Carlton after a run up the Cortez on "that road".
You could do SOOO much worser

I've stayed there many times....Great place in my opinion. Nice rooms, great bar, secure parking, and nice atmosphere! Book it!

Several times I've had breakfast there and ordered sausage links and everytime they gave me hotdogs. I kept forgetting to ask the waiter why.
And they were beef hotdogs.
