Thanks for any info on insurance fees per day (more or less) from anyone who has rented a car at the Loreto aiport recently. The weekly rates for
Alamo, Fox and National car companies are not too bad but these rates do not include insurance so thanks to anyone who can give a general per day rate
(either liability only or full coverage).
Thanks again for your help and saludos desde San Diego

I'm fairly certain that any rates quoted to you included the liability coverage, in that similar to the US, legal minimum coverage must be provided.
Add on will be for collision damage waiver (and, if you elect, higher amounts over minimum). Unfortunately, that cost amounts to a high percentage of
what you have been paying for the rest. There have been discussions on this forum about the wisdom of not paying for the collision damage waiver if
you transact the rental using a credit card that has secondary collision coverage. Only problem is that such credit card coverage is reimburseable,
meaning, you will have to pay out of pocket for repair and present your claim to the vendor that provides the coverage for your credit card issuer.

If you choose to get what I call "walk away insurance" it will cost around $30-$35 a day just for the insurance. What I mean by "walk away" is that
if ANYTHING happens, you owe nada. It's a terrible deal but it does come with a good piece of mind.

i have to believe that your credit card company covers you NO MATTER WHAT if you have a certain level of credit card...so...i'm sorry...i don't know
what that level is, but i've ALWAYS been covered...and i'm not really that cool...so i think everyone is covered with insurance when renting a car IF
you have a valid credit card...try it, you'll like it.

I have called my American Express business Gold Card, Visa Signature, etc., and they only cover a small portion of the insurance in Mexico.
I would love for someone to let me know of their credit card that covers everything.
Thanks

I appreciate everyone's input and I know that full coverage on the car will definitely add to the expense of a weekly rental but just curious to see
what people have paid recently...so thanks again everyone for your help.
