A long time ago I saw a picture of this Mt. with 2 eruptions coming from it, it is also known as Black Mt., Black Hill, Mt. Purdy Etal. It's located 18 KM SE of Mexicalli and E of Hw 5. I am trying to locate this picture for a friend who is a power plant engineer.
David K. surely you he seen it? Anyone?

Cerro Prieto

Sorry Max, the most recent volcanic eruption in Baja was recorded by the padres at Mision San Ignacio of the 'Las Tres Virgenes' volcano, over a couple hundred years ago...

Here's what Gerhard and Gulick say about Cerro Prieto (40 years ago, before the geothermal power plant):

Cerro Prieto, a dark volcanic hill 750 feet high, with two craters at the top.... A side road goes (6.9 miles) to Agua Caliente... Here are hot springs popular locally for bathing, at the edge of a swampy area known as Laguna Volcano to the east of Cerro Prieto. In this area there are mud volcanos, conical mounds formed by hot mud ejected with steam through craters.

Max, I will keep digging for info... and photos...
