For months the algae had been building up in the estero. Local fishermen had tried to remove it to no avail. Local govt had talked about what to do.
It looked like you could walk on the water it was so thick

Over a week ago, mother nature said...ENOUGH
During a low tide the boca(mouth) opened up and out spilled all that nasty algae and all the tilapia that had also been choking the estero.

The beaches were littered with dead alga and fish.
This is a small fish that we saw today

Didnt seem to bother the shrimpers nor the SUP person
