Hello Nomads,
Some may remember that my husband does cabinetry and furniture. He has been pretty busy establishing himself here in Loreto and now has a new website
http://www.bajawoodworking.com where you can see his work and contact him if he can help you with anything.
Thanks for your support!

Here is a picture of his latest project. It is an 80" Buffet

That's nice work. Especially down here with the limited availability of materials.
bajacalifornian - 1-27-2011 at 07:52 PM
Great! . . . where are you in town? He's gonna be busy
Mariz - 1-29-2011 at 08:03 PM
Thank you for the compliments.
My husband works very hard at making his work all that it can be.
I added a bunch more pictures to the website in the last couple days. Take a look or another look. http://www.bajawoodworking.com
Thanks again!

Chris did all the custon kitchen and bathroom cabinets for our new house in Loreto. They are great, nothing comparable down here. Great to work with
and fair prices. Full recommendation from me.

Beautiful! He'll be busy.
capn.sharky - 2-20-2011 at 04:45 PM
You should visit Chris' website. The sideboard is very nice, but everything he does is of real quality. I knew Sam Maloof as he was a client of
mine. He is world famous. Chris is getting near Sam's work, but for 1/100th of the price. Sam got $3500.00 US for one chair for the Whitehouse.
Look him up. In the meantime, for us common fold, looking for really nice work for our casas in Baja, Chris is the man.
oops
capn.sharky - 2-20-2011 at 04:47 PM
I meant common folK not fold
Mariz - 2-20-2011 at 05:19 PM
Thank you Sharky!
I know Chris has really enjoyed working with you.
You have become like one of the family and we always look forward to seeing you!
We all love your sense of humor and Baja spirit.
See you soon.

This looks like cedar? Some our friends have pine cabinets and the bugs eat the heck out of it.We have cedar, the cabinet maker called it Mexican
Cedar and have never had a problem with termites! I saw a train of ants march up to our pantry and when they met the cedar door, THEY TURNED AROUND
AND LEFT THE AREA just before I sprayed them.
Mariz - 2-25-2011 at 07:54 PM
Not sure which piece you're talking about?
Chris says that most everything on the website is either Alder, Pine or Mahogany.
He also said you are correct the Mexican Cedar is very bug resistant, good choice.

Chris just installed another closet today that I thought came out real nice. Here are a couple pic's. We have also added many new pic's to the website
in the last few weeks.

Thought I'd post a few photo of Chris' most recent project.
It is an entertainment center.
We posted quite a few more pictures on the website.

Nice stuff. Carpentry, from framing to cabinetry to carving is a great skill.
Everybody loves wood.
Does he buy the mahogany and alder in Loreto? If so, where?
Woooosh - 8-17-2011 at 01:19 PM
Very nice work, love the feet. Are prices on the website?
BajaBlanca - 8-17-2011 at 01:21 PM
very beautiful pieces indeed - he will no doubt be kept plenty busy !
Mariz - 8-17-2011 at 01:54 PM
He does buy his wood here in Loreto.
Best place is Maderas Californis
Next best is Casa de Carpintero
He gives free estimates. No prices on the site as each piece is custom made and there are several variables. I will say this, prices are very
reasonable.
He has been pretty busy, but we're always looking for more clients.
He appreciates the nice comments!
