New FM3 Card - PHOTO SPECS

djh - 2-8-2011 at 10:46 AM

I can't seem to find earlier posted info about the new PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS for the new FM3 cards

Exact SIZE:
B/W or Color:
Views ( Front L and/or R profiles ? ):
Quantity of each:

anything else I need to know:

I'll be in Loreto in March to do my renewal w/ the new format / card ~ and I'd like to make sure I take photos that meet the new requirements. I like to go in prepared instead of having to run around town for this & that...

Thanks for the assist !

You should leave it to a studio in Loreto. They have to be exactly perfect in size, BW, pose and number. The studio knows what you need and they're fast.

black and white

3 front
3 right side

i'd go the the reccomended place
in town

150 to 200 pesos
done in one hour

I am getting my first FM2 card and I had to get 6 right side, 6 full face, all in color on white background...cost 160mn. no glasses, no jewelry, including ear rings, hair behind my ears.

OOPS: size is infantil

BUT I agree with Dennis, the photolab will know.

Yeah....it's one of those things that are different wherever you are. My FM2 renewel fotos had to be B/W.
Federal regulations are only good til the end of the block.

do it at the (only) photo store in Loreto. they take it one day, you come back the next. 200 pesos for the right number, poses, size. tell them FM2 or FM3. be prepared to have your hair sprayed down, swept off the face and behind the ears. or do your hair yourself first.

the photographer knows. hair has to be behind ears, they are strict about that. no make up, etc. my photographer photoshopped mine a little to make me look about 5 years "fresher".

For my new card FM-3 renewal pictures were in color. Agree with the others who suggested you get them taken where you will renew, the digital stuff makes it fast and painless and you will get the right stuff the first time as these photo places take these pictures everyday.:light:

Today at Santa Rosalia - 6 each in Color for fm3. I did them myself, no problem. btw, they speak English, are friendly and efficient. They did ask for 150 peso to type a letter, but after paying, they said I no longer needed the letter. I think it was for lunch, but hey, that was fine.

on edit - I had 6 photos each, front and right side and they took all of them. No smiles.

They told me no smiles allowed.

I'd heard that but the Loreto place said no, and I've got a nice big grin on my new card...
another reason to get your photos locally...

Man, they must think gringos are really gullible or stupid. Did they really charge you for a letter and then the same office said it was not necessary?

Well. I guess if you are OK with that, it's bound to continue..................

You are absolutely correct Hook. I should have not enforced this practice by paying it. I wasn't 100% sure what was going on and when I asked my Mexicano friend, who was with me, he said pay and let's go. It was a typing fee, maybe when I return I will see something.
