Never been there. Just for bikes? Or 4X4 OK?

The road in from the north (Valle Trinidad/ San Matias) is fast and easy (2WD with ground clearance)... That's how they bring supplies to the ranch (it is a motel/ campground/ bar/ pool/ restaurant).

The south road (to/from the observatory road) is the tough one that will need 4WD and low range for the steep climb up from the ranch.

It is a bit dated, but see our photos and road log from 2005: http://vivabaja.com/905
