Lowest humidty?

Hola Nomads

Just got a new Davis weather station to replace the POS Lacrosse unit that never worked right. I knew it got very dry the air here but wow the Davis just read 4% humidity!
No wonder chapstick is well used here! Anybody else ever get that low?

My Davis at 4:55pm shows 16% and that is really low for being on the water.
Since you're a much higher elevation it just might be correct.
This is the nicest day of the year. Long quad ride in shorts and a really low tide still no fish caught. Will post something with photos later.

Didn't you guys read about the product recall?

It defies all sense that in the absence of a 60 mph Santa Ana wind, there could be a humidity reading of 16% on the beach of SOC. Just seems to me that normal evaporation would boost the moisture content to something higher than one might find in the Gobi desert in August.:?:

16% isn't unusual at all around the San Felipe area. Both my weather station (a couple of miles inland) and Tony Colleraine's which is right on the water just south of town have been down to 10% humidity in the past month.

Does vary a lot though, today on the water it's varied from 12% to 92%, mainly depending on the wind direction:

A lot more stable in the desert:

I recall getting down to 2 percent humidity up on top of the San Pedro Martir---very dry air up there! I'll gladly send you some humidity from the early summer in Fort Worth...
