I plan to fly into San Diego and head for San Felipe. What is the route that you would recommend and.....how many hours will it take?
No info on car rentals needed. I have all that.

The fastest (time) is I-8 to El Centro, south on 111 to Calexico/ Mexicali, south on Mex. 5 to San Felipe... ~250 miles, 4.5-5 hrs.

I take I-8 E/B to 98 all the way to Calexico. About 2 hours. Let me know if you need a ride from the airport to your car rental place. Not this
weekend though, I am leaving for Nogales, AZ later today.

I had always gone via 98 into Calexico (1965-2005) until Baja Angel talked me into staying on the freeway to 111... It is quicker, as you can legally
stay at 70 mph all the way east... and the 111 south is fast with only 1-2 signals for the few miles south to Calexico.
