All those Househunters International programs are OLD....La Paz was on there a couple weeks ago & I personally know the realtor featured on the La

we saw the loreto one a while ago and we were duly amazed that such a young couple wd consider moving down with their kids. I think Les said the

It was Loreto Bay and I have seen that segment before.I'd bet they aren't even there anymore(the family)....but thats just a guess.I used to love

I liked the episode with the 2 gay guys out of Las Vegas that were looking at houses in La Paz.
The real estate lady shows one of the guys the closet and he commented, "If I had a closet like this I would have never came out of it!"

Yep, I remember when it was just the one hotel out there...with a "regular" side of the beach and a nude side of the beach...and 1 giant hot tub. It
was such a beautiful place to stay. I haven't been back since they started the "Villages at Loreto Bay", but I hear that they tore down that hotel and

After Butterfield and Grogan walked away and stuck Citibank with their failing enterprise, Citibank allowed Fonatur to take back the "Inn at Loreto
Bay" (gag me), formerly the hotel Camino Real and the golf course in order to maintain them so as to make the the whole development more appealing for
a prospective new owner. Now Homex, a Mexican developer, has purchased some of the Loreto Bay property to develop it, but does not own the hotel or
golf course.
At least that's my understanding.
I saw that HGTV program too. They'd coo about the "sustainability" of the development - what utter @#$%^ - as a basis for their decision.

Yeah, saw that very sad show on hgtv a couple of times. It was filmed probably a year or two before the place went belly up. I feel very sad for the
family as they were sold a bill of goods, that is, lied to big time.
The frustrating part is that the couple were sooooo naive. Man, I could see it coming 10 minutes into the show. The problem is that they didn't seem
like the type of people that would actually go to the old town of Loreto and walk among the people, so to speak, and get an authentic feel for Loreto,
the indigent people, and the culture, and the valid/real price versus value situation in Loreto.
It seemed to me that they were looking for a gringo enclave and found it, thinking that was the way to go for ever and ever, there, in Loreto, in the
Baja, in Mexico. They were/are the quintessential and ideal prey for the Newport Beachy-seeming la-di-da type of confidence men-developers of beach
front baja projects.
If you have enough money, you can insulate yourself from just about anything. I hope they had/have that kind of money and were able to resurect their
lives. Didn't seem so, though.

appeared to be very very nice people and the kids seemed great kids as well. Very relieved and gratified to learn/realize that they have been able

into a foreign school and community system, it seems.My grandkids have done exactly that.I really hope what bajabarry said is true .Wonder where he
