We have had a lot of rain these last few months in Baja Norte and our roof has leaked--everywhere.
We tried to find the supplies at Home Depot in San Diego and Jose there told us, "I am not supposed to say this, but go to ABC in National City, they
have what you need...and, by the way, buy your tiles in Baja, not in the U.S."
When hubby called ABC, he talked to the GM, who was astounded that a Home Depot employee had referred us.
Yes, ABC has the membrane that we need and, yes, we will buy the replacement tiles in Baja.
Thank you, Jose!woody with a view - 2-17-2011 at 07:13 PM
tiles are tricky. hire the smallest Oaxaqueno you can, or a 10 year old, to walk on them. if tiles were installed correctly you should only have
issues at roof penetration like plumbing vents, dormers, t-tops, etc.... it's really hard to overlap a tile wrong.... just send junior up there with a
bucket of mastic to re-do those penetrations.
if you need a "membrane" you might as well start over and take it down to bare plywood and repair the moldy, dry rotted, termite infested stuffs.
Thanks Woody

Then, take all of those troublesome Tejas Tiles directly to the city dump and part company with them.
Put on Asphalt Shingles and say goodbye to your leak problems.
Tejas Tile is sooo highly overrated. In this day and age of antennas for everything, more time is required to be on the roof and tile won't stand the
traffic.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of it.mcfez - 2-18-2011 at 12:35 AM
