We have been here for 2 1/2 months and have decided on three favorites: Brother's Pizza (great pizza and great sandwiches and nice owners), Guiseppo
Espresso (great eggs benedict and hamburgers), Coffee Haus (great breakfasts and lunches). It might be called Cafe Haus instead of Coffe Haus. We've
really enjoyed visiting these restaurants.

Not exactly Baja but we thought we'd share anyway!

I'll take a boat across the Cortez to eat there
Just being funny....
Hey, how do you like Puerto Penasco?

It's like San Felipe on steroids! Big condo complexes, hotels, including a big Mayan Palace timeshare resort. I'd say that Rocky Point is to San
Felipe as Cabo is to Los Barriles. JMHO.

I went to both El Golfo de Santa Clara and Puerto Peņasco way back about 1983... first time then, and never went back. Not for any special reason,
just that Baja has everything I enjoy, and it is next door.
However, you can get to El Golfo sooner than San Felipe... and it looked (in 1983) exactly like San Felipe looked in 1966. You see the Sierra San
Pedro Martir and Diablo Mountain easily. Big sand beach goes south forever... we drove it about 10 miles.
In Puerto Peņasco, I saw a city more like Ensenada then like San Felipe... and well organized shrimp vendors along the harbor warf. You can just see
the top part of Diablo Mountain from across the gulf, there. From the Baja side of the gulf, all you can see is the glow of light from Peņasco, as
there is no mountains in view.

There is a new paved road along the coast from El Golfo to Rocky Point now. It cuts a lot of miles off going through Sonoita. Some of my employees
have mentioned some assaults and robberies on that road, but I haven't been able to substantiate it. El Golfo is still essentially a little fishing
village. No condos yet. Very popular with the dune buggy/quad set.
