The coolest memory I have from this TR!p was accidently running into flat-track racer DAVE ALDANA on a ride... He was a Legend already(see movie
"On Any Sunday"-1971)
We knew him from Ascot Park in Gardena,CA (where our Pops raced every Friday night)

Those are some cool bikes! My sister and I had a Suzuki 70 that was about that size. Our parents took us to San Felipe to ride the dunes. I don't
think my mom took any photos, she was into filming home movies at the time.

MiniBikes: Moto-Villa(red gas tank) and Carabela (mustard).
I dont Know were they are today. hahaha
They were gone in a year or two. (we grew outa 'em fast.)

My first mini bike was a Taco 22 (3 HP Briggs & Straton powered) we took to L.A. Bay in 1967. In 1970, I got a Honda Trail 70... My kids had a
Kawasaki 110...

David, Please say you got a photo of that "TACO 22"! (what A name)- sounds like another Classic from the days before MiniBikes were PLaST!C.
A friends brother was a body surfer (& a Pot smoking, Blues Blaring, VW van Driver). He had one of those Yellow 'Minolta weathermatic' cameras
(110 film/waterproof).
I was lucky, He took 2 shots of me that day.
This one from the cliffs, really shows how much it has changed BajaDogs.
we just pulled up and stopped here all day.
(surf, get cold, warm back up, and surf some more)
At one point a mobiLe Taco cart stopped !
The only english the Driver spoke was "Machaca burrito, berry good for you".
So...
we had MACHACA BURRITOS ! ...of coarse.
8th grade, No Parents. THAT was fun.

these were the days...... before the present good old days i'll be looking back on in 20 years.
edit: also one of them 110 minoltas. just up the street from 38's. now there are condos coming outta the beach here.

I remember as a kid i could walk down the cliff at k-38 and people camping late 70s early 80s. i knew that was k-38 as soon as i saw that pick :-)

Taco 22 and Hound Dog (my second mini bike, 5 HP) photos...
In the 60's my parents took all slides, and I have a bunch... In the late 70's I took a handful and had them turned into prints, which are the ones
you guys have seen here over the years. One of these days I want to get a scanner that scans slides, and then you all will see a lot more of the
Golden Years of Baja! I also have slides another Baja Nomad (from Alaska) sent me that I look forward to seeing, and sharing!
Until then I don't have any prints of my Taco 22 or Hound Dog or Honda 70 mini bikes...
