Cement block cap?

hdn2mx - 2-27-2011 at 10:17 AM

Hola,

Looking for something to lay on top of our short (3.5 feet) cement
block walls around our palapa. I was thinking maybe a brick or some type of stone cap. I see a lot of red brick around but can't find where they sell it.

Anybody know of tiendas in La Paz or Cabo area. I'm in Todos Santos area.

Thanks for your time, RT

hdn2mx the manufacturers of cmu (concrete masonry units) all make solid caps for block walls, in all the common sizes. You should be able to get them wherever you bought the cmu units originally. I see them for sale here at Home Depot.

I saw a neighbor years ago do it by just setting up the forms and did a pour in place concrete cap. He added some dark brick red color to the concrete and it came out looking very nice...

Fester in downtown Cabo ( Morelos Esq Obregon tel. 624-143-3868) has some concrete caps and unique bricks that might be suitable. Also in Todos Santos north of town there is a guy that makes nice adobe bricks that look great. I dont have a number but it is that nicely landscaped structure about 1 mile out of town on the way to La Paz on your left. He has nice palms and agaves in adobe brick borders.
Suerte!

If you turn left at the Pemex with the car wash as you are heading into La Paz there is a brickyard about a mile down on the right.
