what a shame !!!

Germanicus - 8-22-2004 at 10:32 AM

Isla Cerraivo is for sale entirely.
Ready for a big-shot gringo for a major development like Golf Resort or such.
WHAT A SHAME!
Imagine the impact of a multi milloin dollar development, hosting millions of gringos over a year and the pollution they are causing to the Sea of Cortez!
Found that on this site:
sidnebyarsherrero.com
Is there anything in this world to prevent such tragedy?

Germanicus... can't wait to read your posts after you visit Baja. There is still a lot of the old country to see! Even though it is changing fast. Looking forward to meeting you with David K soon! And, sipping on some beer!

ADULT BEVERAGES ....

cristobal - 8-22-2004 at 12:50 PM

I just got an E-MAIL from DAVID k today .... He referred to those things as ADULT BEVERAGES .... lol

:o:bounce::O:P;D:smug::fire:

Germanicus - 8-22-2004 at 02:05 PM

Bob, >> mee too!!!!!!!!!
not only because of adult beverages as cristobal said (my son is drinking beer since he is 3 yrs. and never was drunken)
You gotto know, that in Germany beer is not a beverage, it's >>> FOOD!
There is a law still in existance since the 1600's which says: Every company has to pay all employees one half of a liter of beer a day with no charge. That's half a pint for lunch.
That is AWSOME! I like it.
We Germans were raised at the bottle >>> it just depends on which one!
But, I hope you agreed that I invited grover to that meeting.
And this is what it is: Everybody who wants to join in (and is a nice guy!!!) might join us.
What do you think?
Have fun this Sunday.

Website???

rogerj1 - 8-22-2004 at 09:57 PM

http://www.sidnebyarsherrero.com/cerralvo_island01.html

There's no price listed. It's been for sale at least since May 04.

Actually,

jrbaja - 8-22-2004 at 10:35 PM

long before that. We were looking into it, (just for fun!) quite a while ago. Way out of our league but found the ads somewhere on the internet.
Todo se vende!
Fidiecomiso!
Adios Baja!

dono - 8-23-2004 at 04:55 AM

I believe its $32,000,000 usd. I was talking to Kaki Bassi acouple of weeks ago and she confirmed a discovery of remains found on the island believed to older than 10,000 yrs old and of asian origen.

PJC - 8-23-2004 at 06:33 AM

Imagine the "better than poverty" jobs for the locals.

Oh, the shame. **************************

islands for sale

aldosalato - 8-23-2004 at 07:11 AM

The Mexican Federal government and environmental ONG will never allow development on the island.
Owners are just trying to play the game in order to claim a lot of money to federal government when they will get expropriated (like Espiritu Santo island)

Germanicus - 8-23-2004 at 07:37 AM

Baja Blacky, > can't see no sense in your post.
Even if the island will be developed, that surely creates some jobs for the locals > what locals, where are they coming from? > the mainland or Baja?
But is it absolutely necessary to have another Gringo Resort on a beautiful ilsand in the Sea of Cortez?
And how many jobs you think will remain after construction for the real locals out of that area?

A lot of people think that resorts are beautiful. Sometimes, I like to "rough it" and other times (more as I age), I enjoy 5 star resorts.

A lot! In fact service employment would likely surpass, development employment.

BSV, blackie and many others here get into flame wars, and maybe decide later to edit out stuff that perhaps was not in line with the point discussed to make their point clearer.

See the 'off topic' area in some of the older posts for some excellent examples.

BigSwingingVerga - 8-23-2004 at 04:37 PM

I thought for a second you might be David E. Then I realize how much"history" you have under your ********* belt. BSV only has 3 posts. Blackie rarely posts here. I don't use quotes, I don't need to and it detracts from my posts.:lol::lol:
