Is there a cutoff date for going down to Guerrero Negro to look at the whales? I mean what is the peak season? Is there a grand depart? Am I to
late?

End of March can be very good. Most of the males have headed north and the remaining females and calves can be VERY friendly.

if you are going after the 3rd week of march I would opt to go with one of the town outfits that go to the mouth (Mario's, Malarrimo or Laguna)
because by the end of March there is not many whales left in the inner lagoon...but still lots out by the mouth....have fun
