I'm "assuming" that it was in the same place that it was located in 1966 when we first stopped there.
At the South end of town in the general area South of where El Nido, etc is located now below (then) Augie's Riviera, the first Motel in San Felipe.
There is footage on the same film taken from Augie's of the swimming pool under construction. Panning the beach area, it shows El Cortez also under
construction.
The interesting thing for me is that the film shows the attendant finishing up with a customer and walking inside. Interesting because, at the time
prior to founding Rancho Percebu, Lupe Lopez managed that Shell Station. So, of course, we wonder IF that is him in the Video.
No way to ever know.
