Just wanted to let you know this week's show will feature Lance Jordan, the marketing director of Chubasco Sandals (the official sandal of Baja), and
a personal friend. Lance and I will discuss our past trips and memories of Baja, and the Chubasco. We'll also discuss this last sunday's Baja Cactus
Cultural Fiesta in Tijuana. Antonio of Baja Cactus tourist services and family put on quite event.
Hope you can listen, call in or email....

Interesting!
Is this a "webcast" only or over the air via affiliates?
BTW, I need some new sandals. Where can I buy Chubasco Sandals on-line?
Thanks
Blackie, its webcast

if you go to their site you can listen live to the real time weekly broadcast at 1:00 to 2:00 PM PDT each tues. (today)
also you can listen to any archived week's show via links on the site. i have listened to all of them and some good info and tales avail. give it a
try.whodat54321 - 8-24-2004 at 08:35 PM
39 bucks? that's an incredible price for a handmade sandal.
MY problem is my big ol feet are a little tight in a size 12. Maybe that 5% stretch will be enough? I usually wear 13's because the toe box is wider
on them.
Thanks!!!

Thank you Ted, for your nice words about the event....
We heard your recorded show from this august 24th.....very nice.... as always...
By the way, thanks a lot for letting our Baja friends know about BajaCactus.....

with my dial up connection here in Baja, I didn't hear a thing about tha Baja Cactus event. Just a lot of music and advertisements.
And, the guest rather than answering questions, was avoiding them and changing the subject to something he knew very little about.
Had I continued to listen, perhaps the festival may have come up but, I couldn't deal with the rest of the "baja o-fishy-o-nada" stuff.
Seemed to me to be a lot like the rest of these gringo "money making schemes" conjured up by these self labeled "Baja experts", rather than people
that truly care about the peninsula.
Just my opinion.
don't fault ted for this
whodat54321 - 8-25-2004 at 08:14 AM
remember that the guy that was on has a JOB.
He's a marketing director for a shoe company.
His job is to sell shoes first, everything else second. I did listen to the whole show, and he did have a few stories to tell when answering e-mails
(3rd segment), but ted's stories were more in-depth and funnier (particularly the one about a bachelor party, where the groom gets duct taped to the
hotel's flagpole).
I wonder if there is a picture of that.

jrbaja - 8-25-2004 at 08:43 AM
I am going to leave my first post up as that is truly what I thought while listening.
On the other hand, the show is new, it seems as if the people on it are fairly new to Baja, and they are just trying to get it all figured out.
Fair enough.
So far, as far as the most interesting and informative Baja gringo endeavor that I have seen, is Carlo Fiestas "Baja Expo".
I wonder if something like that could be turned into radio?
Anyways, since this is the first ? talk show about Baja, I wish them well.
As long as it isn't just another way for some gringos to make money without helping the people of Baja in any way.
JR - listen to the archives

and trust me on this.... you have not partied until you do so with Carlos Fiesta!! He is THE MAN who single handedly circumnavigated the peninsula in
a 19' fijian panga solo in a month 2001.
read all about it at his web site, the most informative site around, www.bajaexpo.com
That's what I'm sayin
jrbaja - 8-25-2004 at 09:28 AM
although I haven't partied with him, I have talked to him and read all of his stuff.
So much so that he owes me a pair of sunglasses because I did read it all.
And he has for a few years now so if you happen to see him, let him know that with interest accrued, I expect Serengeti's.
And, he has the most informative site regarding almost everything in Baja.
ok, will pass it on
capt. mike - 8-25-2004 at 10:12 AM
Carlos is a good friend of mine and a pilot to boot. check up on some of his shenanigans at www.juanyjuan.com
he would make a great guest on Ted's show......you got yur ears up Ted??
That's what I was thinking too
jrbaja - 8-25-2004 at 10:21 AM
He has some pretty cool "experiences" down here. Probably a lot more than most.
Here's Carlos Fiesta
David K - 8-25-2004 at 08:29 PM
... at my Viva Baja 2 party... Sr. Fiesta has been to every one. I know he has been busy with real estate otherwise he probably would have joined us
last Sunday, I did send him an invite.
He correctly guessed Lorenzo de Baja's trivia question and won that Nat'l Geographic with a Baja article in it. Graham Mackintosh is the red haired
fellow behind Carlos.

Who's the guy
jrbaja - 8-25-2004 at 08:37 PM
with the Bohemia? I bet he has some stories to tell
He rarely posts here, but does read it (I think). I sent him an invite to the fiesta Sunday and he emailed back thanking me... but, he couldn't
attend.
At the observatory with Diablo Mountain in background is LdB in 2000.

Is this site updated? It's great info, yet I haven't seen anything new in the last 6 months.
Try winning

As I mentioned, he has been buried in business... Hopefully he will have some more fun time to update his Baja site http://bajaexpo.com as it is one of the best for details on Baja vacation destinations.
