Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Pompano - 3-17-2011 at 08:18 AM

All the little leprechauns in Ireland's sunny isle couldn't bring you all the luck I'm wishing you the while.

David K - 3-17-2011 at 08:24 AM

Very nice Roger... The same to you!:bounce::tumble::spingrin:

DENNIS - 3-17-2011 at 08:24 AM

Every day is St. Paddy's Day in my life. My grandparents were from The Old Country.
SALUD

Thanks, Roger.

TMW - 3-17-2011 at 08:35 AM

Of course, happy St. Patrick's Day to all.

Today everyone has a little Irish in them.

mcfez - 3-17-2011 at 09:00 AM

May the yankeeirishman thank you Pompano. I say the same to you Sir....and others here.

wessongroup - 3-17-2011 at 09:09 AM

Now ain't that the truth... mothers side from the "Emerald Isle"... but, left around 1810 coming this way... after the changes ...

"Ireland becomes part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801"

And could that side of the family drink... :o:o

Thanks, And a Happy Saint Paddy's Day to you all!

Everybody's Welcome Today

MrBillM - 3-17-2011 at 10:15 AM

No problem with the rest of you joining us on this day.

Of course, since the Irish have never been able to get along with each other any better than they do with the Foreigners, we don't need to make any adjustments in that regard.

Éirinn go Brách !

And, Screw the Brits.

I mean that in a "nice" way, of course, since I'm the result of Irish Antecedents doing exactly that.

Today is my Mother's birthday

Dave - 3-17-2011 at 11:57 AM

But she wasn't Irish. Born in London's East End...a c-ckney.

I'll honor her by wearing the Orange. ;D

I left ye in the pink.
There's many a man that wants a bride,
Maaaaloney wants a drink."

Slante!

[Edited on 3-17-2011 by Oso]

OK, I'm into the Jameson's now and getting sentimental. Sorry, but I have to pour a bit on the ground and say slante to me great, great granda, Pvt. Pleasant Neal, Co. C, 3rd Carolina. Old Pleasant was twice a rebel, IRA in the old sod, obliged to emigrate when the Black & Tans found muskets in his pigsty. He landed at Wilmington, made his way up the Cape Fear to Fayetteville, married a Cherokee, soon found himself once again in the chite, wounded and taken prisoner at Gettysburg. Survived with a miniball in his side. And here I am.

"May ye reach heaven a half an hour before the devil knows ye're dead."

Sean was telling Seamus about America:

Seamus, in America they have clubs where you can go and drink all day and not pay a fookin cent.

Yur jokin Sean!

No, it’s true. And, when yur finished drinkin’ you can go upstairs and have sixx over and over with as many partners as you like and still not pay a fookin cent.

Sean, I can’t believe it.

Seamus, I swear it’s true.

So, Sean, you’ve been to America, then?

No, Seamus, but me sister has.

How Many Irishmen Does It Take to Change a Lightbulb?

Gypsy Jan - 3-17-2011 at 02:05 PM

Two.

One to climb the ladder.

And one to drink until the room starts spinning.

Ba-da-bump!

(I am officially dispensated to post this joke because I have Irish citizenship.)

Happy Paddy's Day to All,

GJ

Am just heading out the door to the Jungle to celebrate the Irish..with some corned beef and cabbage and perhaps a wee dram.

Go raibh an naomh chaomhnú liom anocht ar an mbóthar ... agus na ba a chodladh!

But first:

Here's my glass to St. Patrick...he heard voices, too.

Oso - 3-17-2011 at 05:25 PM

Actually, the corned beef is mainly an Irish-American thing. They don't eat that much of it in Eire. They raise a lot of sheep there, so we're having lamb chops tonight. But, what might surprise many is that the main meat consumed in Ireland is pork. I guess that might make the Serenidad pig roast eligible to qualify as an Irish event.

March the 17th, rest the 18th.

I just can't help myself!

The Lost Luggage

An Irishman arrived at J.F.K. Airport and wandered

around the terminal with tears streaming down his cheeks.

An airline employee asked him if he was already homesick.

"No," replied the Irishman.

"I've lost all me luggage!"

"How'd that happen?"

"The cork fell out!" said the Irishman..

And now it is becoming an Irish-Mexican thing....

My corned beef and cabbage (and boiled potatos) dinner last night at the Jungla. Quite good with lots of horseradish.

An Irish Man sits in the pub with his wife and he says, "I love you."
She asks, "Is that you or the beer talking?"He replies, "It's me...talking to the beer.":lol:
