Here I sit
broken hearted
got ready to leave
and the car even started
one final check
just a short trip to town
and chit, what is this?
the radiator's down
so upon further checking
it needs a new core
that's why the whole thing was checked over
just one day before
So sorry J.R.
we must have missed that
but not to worry at all
we are now up to bat
come back at 4:30
make it 5 to be sure
and don't fret a bit,
cause we have the cure
So 5:30 it is,
and the job is not done
still broken hearted
because of course
they haven't even started
So the early Wednesday start
has come to a finish
perhaps ma?ana
they'll get that radiator "innish"
I don't expect them to be done
and by no means complete
hell. just starting the job
has become quite the feat.
As far as repellants,
they don't go bad
and the clothes, food and goodies,
they don't know what they are missin
and as far as a departure date,
in the wind I am peeinBigSwingingVerga - 8-24-2004 at 06:52 PM
Very good you can make light of your situation. Damn, that is a 30 minute job in the states. Time takes on a whole new meaning in MX though, YOur poem thouroughly reflects that is a fact you are well aware of. I will be home,
Punta estero #58, Thursday afternoon. If you stop by I will make sure your load is Lleno. I even have roof racks, or a small utility trailer I could
loan you to help out with your very worthy cause. Gypsy Jan - 8-24-2004 at 08:00 PM
Hey JR,
Diverting frustration (and maybe rage) into creativity.
What a great response to adversity.
Good luck and I hope things go well, my second favorite Spanish phrase, "Que le vaya bien."
Your quite talented Jr

Your poem was great. Cracked me up by the way, Typical Baja. What made me laugh is I am doing the same type thing with my car.Tomorrow will be the
3rd trip in 5 days. Sorry you didn't get out as planned but then it's just another baja adventure, right. kPJC - 8-25-2004 at 08:15 AM

No kidding!
JR, you should make this a regular deal. With your experience, you could kinda pick up where Jack C. Smith left off with 'God and Mr. Gomez".
Thanks you guys.

When it comes to car repair in Baja, I certainly have volumes of "material".
I put that stuff up there for people like Germanicus and others who are planning on making a move here.
It is by no means for everyone but in some cases, we wouldn't have it any other way. Different strokes.
As far as this happening in the u.s., AAMCO immediately comes to mind except with a lot of dishonesty thrown in as a bonus prize. Or perhaps ritz
camera. But, those are different stories.
And for those of you who also understand my complete disregard for "schedules" when it comes to living here.
It's either funny, or you have no business living here! Seem's that a while
back, someone on here was giving me "do do" about my not being able to set exact dates for some adventure.
That's part of the adventure!hahahahaha

you all take care of my truck on your way south. don't leave it sitting on the side of the road where some undesirable can come along and borrow it
for some unspeakable uses . i know a few good mechanics bettween your place and primo tapa that can work on it and get it to the next mechanic down
the road.
good luck guy.
