Driving on a dirt road in Baja Sur last week I saw what looked like a Great Horned Owl roosting at about 2 in the afternoon. I was quite a ways away
and the pic isn't great but I thought I'd share anyway.

Not so unusual around my place except fot the fact that you saw him out in daylight. They sit on top of the power poles at night talking back and
forth, waiting for an unsusspecting rodent to pop up out of the ground.

I remember camping in the large open San Carlos Valley just off Hwy 1 about 30 miles south of El Rosario...after dark a full moon rose and we could
see three or four owls flying about 2 feet off the ground back and forth across the valley looking for prey.
