We've lost a dear Nomad this week. BMG passed away on Tuesday.
We will miss the wit, the kindness, the intelligence and accomplishments of one who earned the title "Renaissance Man".
We will miss the "blinking eye" of his avatar.
Sail well, dear friend, with fair winds and calm seas.mtgoat666 - 3-24-2011 at 11:39 AM

BMG was one of two people on this board that taught me very quickly to think carefully before I posted an opinion on any subject of a political
nature. He was particularly good at gently pointing out the weakness of my argument or the lack of my knowledge and understanding of the facts. I'm
sure he was far more successful at getting me to moderate and question my view of the world than I him. I had hoped to have the opportunity to tell
this to him face-to-face but I never met the man.Heather - 3-24-2011 at 02:58 PM
Very sad news. I too enjoyed his posts and that blinking eye! My condolences. Heather and familytoneart - 3-24-2011 at 03:14 PM

Gypsy Jan - 3-24-2011 at 03:51 PM
His posts revealed a character full of wit, insight and a love for life, especiially in their cherished home in Baja.
I am glad that oldlady let us Nomads know about this, so we could try to help out with the feelings of loss.
Most sincere condolences to the familyBajahowodd - 3-24-2011 at 03:59 PM
So sad to hear. My condolences to his loved ones.DianaT - 3-24-2011 at 04:05 PM
Such a terrible loss---BMG was a friend the first time we met him and we were just getting to know him as one very good neighbor.
While his posts often showed what a character he was with a great sense of humor, how he lived his life showed that he was a man of real character.
Our thoughts are with lingililingili.

BMG and lingililingili were the first Nomads I met several years ago when we had both just purchased property in La Paz. It was a magic day, because
the adventure was just starting for all of us.
This is a big loss for our quirky community - his was the voice of reason in so many silly squabbles, to say nothing of his immense intellect and wit.
My thoughts are with you Ana.comitan - 3-24-2011 at 06:04 PM
You will never be forgotten, you will always be remembered.David K - 3-24-2011 at 06:08 PM

Steve and Anna hosted a flan tasting party in my honor a few years back and I was immediately taken with their zest for life and their caring for
their fellow man.
I had told Jaime that one of my to do trips was to meet with them and take the Ferry over to Sonora to visit his father-in-law. Guess that won't
happen.
For those of you who have never met Steve he can be best described as a huge cuddly bear...Anna told me of their early trips trips down from Berkley
in their sailer...Steve was so big that he could not enter the engine room SO if anything happened or needed to be fixed...that was Anna to the
rescue...Again painting a face for many deprived of visiting them...Anna was a slight lady with a ready smile who could pour a mean Teguila Liquor
only to be exceeded by the pouring of Steve.
I am terribly saddened that this giant of a man has been taken from us...Anna if there is anything Jaime or I can do to lighten your burdon PLEASE let
us know
That eye!

Steve died in his sleep on Tuesday evening from heart failure. There will be a memorial service at La Costa Restaurant on Sunday, assuming all the
necessary paperwork is concluded in time for Steve to join us, per his request, in a shoe box. Further details will follow here.
Please, lingililingili requests that the blinking eye be retired in Steve's honor.BajaRat - 3-24-2011 at 07:03 PM

Sad, sad, sad.
We knew Steve and Ana only well enough to be aware of what a champion he was in supporting Ana through her serious health issues these past 18 months
or so. He was 'there' for her in every way possible, a model of how a real man treats his mate when the chips are down. He was a big man and so was
his heart.bajalera - 3-25-2011 at 11:40 AM
Hard to say what I'll miss most: his good humor or his good sense.shari - 3-25-2011 at 12:56 PM
We too will miss Steve's lovely character and smile.... Ana, let us know if there is anything we can help with...my heart goes out to you amiga...be
strong and Steve...as others have mentioned....see ya on the other side.lingililingili - 3-25-2011 at 05:04 PM
Thank you to all of our Nomad friends. My heart is broken, half of me is gone and I am not sure yet how I will go on. This was supposed to be a good
year for us. If there is a God, I am very angry.David K - 3-25-2011 at 05:15 PM
What would Steve want you to do? I would bet to carry on, continue doing what made you both happy, as best as possible... You have a huge support
group here on Nomad, as well.
If you travel past our home and need a place to rest, mi casa es tu casa... in Oceanside.
Please, please, lingililingili

Although I haven't met you I do know how you feel.
The most helpful thing to know - is that it will get better. It may not seem like you will ever heal but with time things get easier and easier. There
is an end to this. The anger will diminish and go away.
It will be different after that, but still good. You need to trust the future.Bajatripper - 3-26-2011 at 12:32 PM
The Nomad Board will be a little less bright with his passing. My condolences to his family and friends.elgatoloco - 3-26-2011 at 01:25 PM
BMG had a great way of saying a lot in a few words. We are sorry we never got a chance to meet him in person.
Condolences to the family.BajaWarrior - 3-27-2011 at 06:12 AM
I spoke to Steve several times via U2U in '07 regarding importing household goods into Baja. He took my advice and thanked me later for such a smooth
crossing. I know he was living the dream I'm just sorry it was cut so short.BAJACAT - 3-28-2011 at 08:50 PM
like i said, when a Nomads leaves this planet is just to become another star in BAJA, R.I.P
