We bring ours from the ranch. it either comes from goats or cows. if you want to get some commercial kind in cabo, it is available at the irrigation stores south of Costco on the frontage road. look for the rainbird and hunter signs. I also think they have john deere signs up. I like the 2nd (south) store alot more, I have had bad experiences with the northmost store, and vouged to never use them again unless it was a necessity.

Behind the libremiento which runs to the airport there are farms bordered by Boulevard Pino Pallas La Paz, right behind Walmart, there is a dirt road to enter the farms, there you find a goat farm and you can get the very best composted goat fertilizer for Palms, but you have to shovel it yourself-bring a shovel. You should bring something to trade-like fresh fish. Just ask around-it's called Rancho Gloria. Maybe look on google earth first to get an idea. It's really fun and the compost is the best. I take 10 sacks in old feed bags at 40kilo each and trade some filet or beer or something good.

If you are leaving La Paz toward the airport, right after you pass walmart and the road turns right toward the airport, you will see all the cars making a U turn to go South, because that is how the road is designed, pass that U turn go further and uturn at the next chance and then pull over to the right, soon you will see a dirt road the heads into the brush, that's the entrance to the farms. Continue until you see a large field with cows and goats. Ask if you need help. There is a store near the power towers who can give you directions to Las borreigas de RANCHO La GLORIA.

Commercial fertilizers (like Miracle Grow) will work almost immediatly. Natural Fertilizers like manure take up to a year to work. At least that's the way it works for Dates in the Coachella Valley

We see results within weeks of putting goat/cow manure on the lawn, plants and palms. We put alot of water on the manure, and the good stuff leaches out turning the water golden brown.

It is also a sheep way to get a literal sheetload of excellent fertilizer.

it works great for plastering adobe though... when mixed with clay it's waterproof.

what were the cows in chino eating? If it was food concentrate, there is a lot of salt in it. Get manure from cows that eat grass, alfalfa or free range eaters.

Recipe for fish emulsion

If you use fresh fish, you need to compost it in a 5 gallon closeable bucket. Fill bucket 1/2 full with extra browns like sawdust, leaves, or straw. The rest is fish heads to the guts. You can add some molasses to the fishy mixture in order to build up microbes to speed up decomposition. Stir the bucket daily or every other day in order to get air in the mix for better decomposition and better aerobic microbial growth in the emulsion. Let this paste rot for at least 1-2 weeks.

If you like you could add 1-2 tblsp of Epsom salt to the mix for extra magnesium and sulfur and for extra trace elements you could add 1-2 tblsp of apple cider vinegar.

You can apply this fish emulsion at a dilution rate from 1:1 to 1:5 ratio (5 gallons of tea to 25 gallons of water).

This stuff will schwarzenegger your plants!

Now you have a good excuse to go fishing!!!!!!!!!

My dogs loved it when I used fish, they dug it uo, ate it and rolled in it. What I do now is boil down the remaining fish carcasses in a turkey fryer and it gets fed to the dogs. The cats get all the filleting scraps.

100% of the fish gets used in this household. if only I could use the dog poo for fertilizer...that'd be something!...

at least the dogs eat the kitty poo for desert...kitty Almond Roca..yum!

You can!
Plan out where you may want to have shrubs or trees someday. Dig a deep hole...add poopy doopies till 5/8 full. Cover with the soil. Wait for 18 months. Place plant there. Excellent compost
