Thanks, glad you've enjoyed it. These large animals are fascinating and seem to have unique personalities (why wouldn't they?). Blue whale #1 was the same blue whale that showed the fluke in my last video (Feb 18th off Juncalito). He stayed off San Basilio for several days and is comfortable around boats. I learned that once they become relaxed and if they're prone to fluke, they'll show it on their dives. In much of the video our boat was just floating and he would come up to us. That day (Mar 18) we saw half a dozen fin whales including two juveniles, one dwarf sperm whale which we listened to on the hydrophone, and eight individual blue whales. Also billions and billions of krill. The water is warming up and we've seen some squid already. Blue whales can't handle being around squid so they're headed out of the area now.
