A NYC couple (Eric and Mya) open a restaurant in Tulum, Yucatan. The photos of the beautiful fresh ingredients caught my eye. When asked what has
Mexico taught them Eric said "patience" and Mya said "manana". How true!
Looks like a must stop when going to the Yucatan.

A visit to Tulum is a MUST! You will never regret it. And, all the Mayan ruins all over the place! Wow!
my trip to Tulum in 1991 was via our plane. Landing at the military strip there and walking along the path in the jungle over to the sea side ruins
was a gas.

That was the year we were there. Want to revisit with more time. Beautiful place, we called Tulum the "Mayan Club Med".

Of course you are right about it being in the state of
Quintana Roo, but the whole peninsula is commonly referred to as the Yucatan Peninsula. I'm sure DK would have commented also!

the restaurant is by new yorkers and for the upper echelon on on vacation (notice there is no spanish on their menu or website). sorry, you cheap
cheap seniors are not their target market.

True, but your original post did not say "Tulum, on the Yucatan Peninsula". It said "Tulum, Yucatan". (BTW, I used to live on Cozumel)

Just curious as to how it was that Ken came to "find" this place.
That said, my first visit to Playa del Carmen was in 1981. We took what was loosely called a ferry from Cozumel over to the mainland. Upon docking,
there were perhaps three small buildings there.
Haven't been in the area for two years, but oh lord, for all of ya'll that constantly complain about what happened to Cabo, you really ought to see
what happened in the vicinity of Tulum.
Timeshare palaces, chain restaurants, Etc.
However, I must admit that the restaurant Ken is highlighting looks really great.
But, for me, when I go to that area, I am still entralled by Isla Mujeres, despite the development there. Even today, it is a weird amalgam of Key

Howard,
He found it reading the NY Times. I've been known to go considerable distances in search of a great restaurant, sometimes in the seediest of
neighborhoods. (Not saying Tulum is in that category in any way.)
