Just got back from hauling a partial pickup load of peeler posts
and tent pole stakes Through Customs at Mexicali. No questions
other than "is this new wood" regarding the tent pole stakes.
That because they are green (chemical) treated and could be mistaken
for used wood. 17 % duty.
Coming back Yesterday on Highway 86 along the Salton Sea, I saw two
Mex licensed Stake bed trucks overflowing with "used" lumber so it is
obvious they are still importing that, too, as long as you have a
permit.

I figured out, as long as you declare, > maybe paying some % duty < you won't have no problem.
(take along a low invoice for your stuff and cut some problems out of it this way)
But anyway, it's always good to know what's possible.
