Last time I was in Puertecitos, Clara (operator of the camp) had final certifications for her gas station going on.
Finally. .... the station is in full operation everyday. Chains of the entrance were taken down, polished pump housings, and a attendant waiting for
clients.
I used to joke a lot about this place.....brand new and never opened.....for years.

Through the rumor mill... two parties had told me that the reason why the new construction ceased on the new M5 "way down yonder" past Puertecitos is
this: The earthquake that hit Mexicali ruin roads...so the crew were told to pack it up and head for Mexicali for repairs.
True or not true....I dont know....but it was interesting to hear the story.
