My 30+ year old fridge has gas supply problems. I suspect a plugged orifice/filter but can't take it apart to examine/clean as the brass/steel
connection is pretty much welded together after all these years (it looks better in the pic than it really is).
We're on the east cape right now and will be in La Paz on Monday to meet my son Alex at the airport en route to Conejo. If you know of a place where I
can get the parts I need I would appreciate detailed directions – a google map screenshot would work!

i had the same pro'lem in the "kitchen" last october. a little WD40 on the connection, a light TAP, TAP, TAP on the wrenches got them apart on my 20
year old Dometic. a THOROUGH cleaning of the orifices has my fridge/freeze working like day1.

I assume you have already opened up the combustion chamber and cleaned the burner etc with a vacuum ?
You can get copper tube, fittings and tools at almost any ferretaria.

If it was me I would try using a propane torch and heat up that brass fitting real good and then use 2 wrenches to get it loose. When you reassemble
it use some good grease on the threads. It looks like you have aluminum tube with a brass fitting. Brass and aluminum will corrode and weld themselves
together over the years, so they need to be greased pretty good during assembly. Best bet is to get it apart and replace the aluminum parts with
either brass or copper.

PS If you have to replace the brass fitting, it is called a 3/8 flare fitting. I say 3/8 because that is what most of them are. It is possible that
yours is something else. You can tell by measuring the outside diameter of the aluminum tube. 3/8 tube 3/8 fitting, 5/16 tube 5/16 fitting. Etc.

If you haven't found what you are looking for yet, you might try Refrigeracion y Equipo de Baja California on 5 de Febrero s/n (without number) and
Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez. They're located in the old Viosca Tannery complex--the place with the tall smokestack next to the Nissan dealership.
They have yet to fail me when I've needed parts for my washing machine (couplers, water mixers, etc.). If they're that good for washers, they must be
awesome with refrigeration parts, since it's part of their name.
