Think before you cut.

My neighbors are really super great people. Just a little while back I noticed workers removing much of a palo verde bush/tree growing near the road out front. I knew a pair of Phainopelas were nesting in the part of the bush they hadn't cut yet and I asked them to stop. They said they were hired to cut the brush so my neighbor would have more parking room for guests. My neighbor friend came out and had no idea the nest was there and the tree removal stopped. I'm sure he would have waited till after nesting season was over had he known about there birds.
If you are planning on doing some brush removal and you care about the critters please take a look first. These birds were freaked out and never did return after all the commotion.

And some people just do not care

My neighbor was a tree trimmer. Neighbor #2 asked for an estimate to trim some trees. Neighbor #1's inspection found an owl's nest with eggs and explained that he could not trim the trees until after the eggs hatched and babies were gone.

Neighbor #2 hired someone elso who trimmed the trees.

The electricity company every so often knocks down osprey nests, it astounds me that they would do it when the baby osprey birds have not flown yet. They better hope I never see them doing it ... so that all of you are spared my loud yelling !!
