My beautiful, loving daughter sent me a Barnes and Noble nook color ereader and also purchased a two-year subscription for me.

Two years may be a bit optimistic. Barnes and Noble isn't long for this world.
OTOH, I hear you can hack the nook to be a fully functioning tablet PC.
