Slow start to the holiday here and the weather is supposed to be cloudy, colder with chance of rain.
Tourist numbers down 50% from five years ago according to a lifeguard interviewed. I'm pretty sure lifeguards won't be doing interviews again after
that bomb. Could be worse I guess and I think the real number is much less. The second article says "hundred of families" enjoy Rosarito Beach.
Hundreds? not thousands? Good thing- no lifeguard sitting in our local tower or any porta potties yet.
BTW- The via rapida from the San Ysidro border to Playas de Tijuana is under construction BOTH DIRECTIONS for the next three months. Well marked
detours in both directions.

Actualy, we all as an average woke up with 44% occupancy. By the number of people already arriving into Rosarito, we are expecting 80% - 100%

Festival Plaza is advertising 350 pesos per night, per person including the concert ticket, breakfast and a Papas and Beer entrance. They should be
sold out.

We all have the same promo, "Playa Fest Rosarito 2011"Woooosh - 4-26-2011 at 04:51 PM
Final occupancy came in at 69%, up 15% from last year. Not saying what the RevPAR was though (revenue per available room). Saw a lot of people on
the beach- but not many inside the drinking corrals the big nightclubs set up on the beach. The reviews for the weekend were all good- not really
packed, but definitely a lot of people.
Geoff, those are encouraging statistics. It seemed busy in Ensenada last week. A downtown 'Nada business owner confirmed to me that it was one of
the best weeks she had seen in a few years.
Will hope that some of the good news about Baja encourages more visitors this year.Ken Cooke - 5-1-2011 at 12:39 PM
From what I witnessed, San Felipe was bursting at the seams.
House rentals had families camped out in the front yards, streets blocked off in downtown San Felipe, carloads by the dozens, crowds, the malecon was
hopping even on Easter Sunday!
WoW!
