there is a huge amish community in northern mainland mexico - they have a part in the main newspaper in a dialet of German ... it was very bizarre to see. we got the paper when we wernt to CREEL in the copper Canyon.

I met and talked with Menonites in and around Choix and Creel in Sonora state. They own vast farmlands around Cuauhtemoc. Queso Menonita is very much in demand. I think the Amish are a Menonite off-shoot but I could be wrong. The women are very pretty.

Amish are a stricter older order of the Mennonite faith.

my ancestors were Mennonite immigrants to Kansas in the mid1800s when they came from Prussia and introduced Turkey Red winter wheat.
