A Puzzle
Wandering along the seashore
Smelling the sea breeze
Waves loudly crashing over the rocks
A solitary hang glider
Like a raven
Riding the thermals
A motorcycle rider
Vision obscured with dust
Storming across a dry desert riverbed
A native mountain man
Eyes of a hawk seeing for miles
Surveying his domain
A tourist tied to the highway
Watching the shifting shadows
Flowing over tall mesas and dead volcanoes
Pilots high in the sky
Looking to making sense
Of the puzzle that is Baja
A lone hiker leading a burro
Hot and sweaty
Visiting isolated ranchos
Campers gathered round a fire
Comforting each other
Strange sounds in the quiet of the night
Used up old men sitting in a bar
Vision diminished by booze
Watching life pass by
People in the bays and coves
In palm covered canyons
High up in the wind and snow
Each one seeing a small piece
Of the wondrous puzzle
That is Baja

Have I made a case for knowing Baja?
