Supposed MAJOR CHANGES to Mexican immigration laws.....again!

Hook - 5-27-2011 at 10:03 AM

FM-2/3s supposedly will be history. Much shorter time period to become a permanent resident.

Especially for concubines.:bounce: Or, if you marry or have common-law spouse status.

An analysis by a Yucatan gringo site is here.

seems like you all getting prematurely excited. the blog post says bill was passed but regulations not yet written.

wait and see....

DENNIS - 5-27-2011 at 02:55 PM

For sure. Nobody said it was a done deal. It's just fodder for the rumor mill.

Great. I just got the last changes digested. Don't suppose the cost will go down.

From the link posted by Hook, it seems to me that they are directing their efforts toward Central Americans, who have notoriously transited Mexico on their way to El Norte.

Yeah, I hate it when I have to stand in line behind Central Americans when they are renewing their FM-2/3's on their way to El Norte.

Has anyone noticed the new laminated card is just slightly too big for the slots in your wallet.
Guess what , Ifyou trim it to fit it is invalidated, the powers to be call it tampering with a offical document.:no:

Yeah, we asked immediately about that, and were given the same answer.

I stick it in with the cash at a right angle. Not pretty, not as safe but it works.

Fits into my passport wallet, no problemo.

I guess that it might be a size problem. ;)
