The last one - the yellow flower - is the second one this season and this is the first time it has ever flowered ...
and lastly, I just had to include this one, for those who have never been to our B & B, let me introduce Rex, one of the COOLEST dogs around, we
brought him all the way from England via U.S. to Baja and he has never left our house since !!!

the first one blossomed today .... it is so small before it flowers, that i didnt even realize it was ready to bloom !!! the other was there the

I think they are passion flower and mandevilla-your blooms are so beautiful!
Just bought some hot pink peonies from Trader Joes-oh, how I wish I could grow them. Those and lilacs. Probably the only 2 things I miss from the
right coast-oh, and NYC greasy pizza!

and a really cool variant of Dragon Fruit.... yesterday the stem was 2". today it is 5" and BLOOMING. our red barrel has bloomed twice. the peaches
are being enjoyed, 5 kinds of squash are coming in, 2 types of corn, peas, beans, 2 types of tomato(e)s, jalapeno, serano, eggplant, bell pepper, spinach, huacatay is 4 feet tall, caigua is finally growing now that the
weather warmed, and the aji amarillo is digging the warmth too.
so many blooms, so little time......

the first purple flower I posted is called MALVA ROSA and yes, the secondone is most likely mandevilla. it's leaves just started turning yellow

Malva Rosa---the generic name in the US is Lavatera (assurgentifolia).
Woody---that's a Mammilaria or something but not a Cholla---it won't produce pups for a looooong time! You see them all over Baja....Natalie Ann - 6-2-2011 at 11:32 AM

Blanca - I think your second photo (the red flower) is a dipladenia, which is a type of mandevilla but is a bit bushier than the mandevilla vine
itself. Either way, a gorgeous plant.
Likes to be kept evenly moist - not wet - spring and summer. Perhaps the leaves are yellowing because it could use a bit of plant food? My best
guess.

I have plants to share cuttings from, if anyone is interested in doing exchanges .... most of my plants are desert-proof. You can leave them for a
couple weeks or more with no watering and they will be fine.
