I had a problem. I'm building a water feature out of some discarded foam panels later to be covered with concrete. Includes a little birdbath.
There's no spigot nearby to plumb in for a water source and I'm not about to haul water to it every day so...I googled solar pumps for water
fountains. I found this little gem. 4"x4" panel and a little pump. FREE water all day, as long as the sun shines.
The birds love it! Keeps the water cool recirculating all day. I lost it's name but it cost $40.00. Great find.Iflyfish - 5-31-2011 at 07:49 AM

Ingenious! What a cool project. Should put this on my list but there isn't room on my "dream sheet"/ to do list. I stole the photo and it's in my bird
file to remind me. thankx

No, but even with a little cement on it for decor I can move it to the garage whenever I need to. Pump and all.shari - 5-31-2011 at 10:49 AM

Since it's only a recirculating pump you will still have to haul water to replensh what's lost through
evaporation and with the small amount in the bird bath that would be frequently. You need to add a large resivior somewhere (buried 25 gal trash can?)
to cut down the water hauling. The brd bath would overflow into the resivior and the pump would bring it back.
