leather gloves (and backup person with machete)

DianaT - 5-31-2011 at 04:51 PM

Had to rescue a ground squirrel from drowning in a similar fashion once. We used a fishing net to get him out!

But, he was not 2 feet long! Good Luck.

Russ - 5-31-2011 at 04:53 PM

dust pan _ gently put it in and he should climb in the slowly take him out side

krafty - 5-31-2011 at 04:56 PM

BajaGringo - 5-31-2011 at 05:19 PM

With a thread title like that you gotta know we're going to be asking to see some photos...

longlegsinlapaz - 5-31-2011 at 05:34 PM

Could Jim put a 2 x 4 (or straw broom....something that'd fit in there for him/her/it to get a firm grip on) in to crawl out on his own & maybe some kind of ramp for him to get down to the floor? Whatever you do, DON'T flush! I'm sorry! I'm not laughing at you! Don't try to get it out with your hands....they can be damn nasty!! And they move fast when they want to! I'd block anything close it could go under between the toilet & the door! Lock the dogs in a different room!

DENNIS - 5-31-2011 at 05:41 PM

Just keep in mind...., they taste like chicken, no matter where they've been.
Bon Appetit.

bajagrouper - 5-31-2011 at 06:54 PM

YUM, four drum sticks.........

woody with a view - 5-31-2011 at 07:06 PM

i've heard of the "monster in my pants" but never heard of a lizard in my toilet......

any idea how it got there? reverse the process and that should work.

The Gull - 5-31-2011 at 07:47 PM

woody with a view - 5-31-2011 at 07:56 PM

he is The Gull!;)

http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=33112#pid3431...

This thread reminded me of a few lizard posts from the past. Your toilet lizard must not be of the same gene pool as Neal John's Stick Lizard or it would have come prepared for it's own rescue.

We really need a visual here. Fotos, por favor!

longlegsinlapaz - 6-1-2011 at 07:14 AM

Lizard won the battle??? You slept in the camper last night?? ;)

vandenberg - 6-1-2011 at 07:36 AM

Judy,
you're usually pretty good with pictures.
How come no pictures of this critter?:biggrin:

Eli - 6-1-2011 at 03:41 PM

So Judy, how did this tail end?

oldlady - 6-1-2011 at 04:01 PM

The Commode Dragon got 'em.

BajaGringo - 6-1-2011 at 04:08 PM

We are still waiting for some photos...

marv sherrill - 6-1-2011 at 05:05 PM

HHHmmmm - did FLUSH come to mind???

DavidE - 6-1-2011 at 05:42 PM

Use something with a fork on one end to pin the lizard (is it an iguana?) just behind the head. Second person P-nches the lizard just behind the fork and uses second hand to pinch the lizard just to the rear of the rear legs. Life the lizard making sure the gloves to not slip off the hands. Drop into large plastic trash sack. Be prepared to handle a strong lashing tail. Ive had to do this quite a number of times.

Access GOOGLE to make sure it is not a Gila monster (I doubt that). If it is a Gila Monster you have to be extra careful. Lizard teeth can be contaminated with bacteria and they can inflict shallow but obnoxious punctures.

krafty - 6-1-2011 at 06:53 PM

OMG i hope it's gone by now!

No picture of Judy's lizard...but I have this one.

Pompano - 6-1-2011 at 07:17 PM

My custom of always shaking out my shoes before putting them on pays off.

krafty - 6-1-2011 at 07:21 PM

no wonder there are voices in your tackle box! :o

willyAirstream - 6-1-2011 at 08:08 PM

Guess you will always turn the light on before sitting down on the toilet :)

googling "toilet lizard" images turns up some very strange pics

bajajudy - 6-1-2011 at 08:08 PM

Sorry, guys and gals
I have been busy making lizard kabobs and belts.
I do have some pix and will post
BUT in the meantime, Jim got a fish net and a bucket, scooped him up, into the bucket and out the door.
Yes we tried flushing first!

cjesme - 6-1-2011 at 08:36 PM

Yes, some do. Approx. 51% of the US population.

Alot of the places I visited didn't even have "seats" much less lids.

djh - 6-2-2011 at 12:57 PM

I wonder if your little friend needed some minerals that would have otherwise been flushed....

I have seen mt. goats fight over human urine (mine !!) at Going to the Sun Pass in Glacier. Surprised me big time.

Looks like a whiptail lizard...... Why it was fishing for brown trout is beyond me........

Skipjack Joe - 6-2-2011 at 03:20 PM

I don't think he was any happier than you were, Judy.

bajajudy - 6-2-2011 at 06:38 PM

A really sick friend just said that we had a lizet.

Eli - 6-2-2011 at 07:16 PM

Love a story with a happy ending. I got to believe he went down into the toliet, not up thru the drain, right? Are you hooked to sewer down there or on septic? Guess only Gawd knows, I sure don't.
